08/01/2011 - Rainforest Walk Shelter, Bracknell

Testimonial -
"Graff Workshop attended for the day to help transform a common room at our housing project for young vulnerable adults who have been made homeless. This was a great opportunity for the young people to learn a new skill and be involved in a creative piece of art that now resides on a large wall in their common room. All young people involved enjoyed the day and are keen to recreate more works of art with a paint can. The artists themselves were very laid back and helpful in assisting our young people in doing some graffiti." (Martin Homer, Rainforest Walk)
I think the testimonial sums up the day really..

28/04/2011 - College Hall Pupil Referral Unit, Bracknell

This was a great workshop day. It was an activities day for a pupil referral unit in Bracknell, for kids who have been expelled or become disenchanted with mainstream schooling. The activities for the day were jewellery making, DJ Workshops, Rap Workshops and Graffiti Workshops.

Graff Workshop provided four, 50 minute workshops to four different groups and this was a great fast paced layout to the day. The boards turned out great and the youths responded well to the workshops.

27/4/2011 - Look Ahead Sheltered Housing, London

Wednesday was spent in central London at the Look Ahead sheltered accommodation. This was a great workshop with a really responsive group of 18+ yr olds. A few Posterman markers were nicked and a can of paint stolen, but the can was later retrieved!

The canvases produced were the best I have ever seen from a canvas workshop with some really creative ideas coming out. I looked to steer the group at the classic paint a block colour backgound and throw splats of colour all over it but the group had their own ideas which were great.

11-12/04/2011 - Council Graffiti Workshop

Graff Workshop don't just do workshops at schools, we also do graffiti workshops for councils who are looking to fix public areas which have been damaged by repeat incidences of graffiti. This was a large job, where we were painting a scout hut from top to bottom.

The council sent Graff Workshop the designs which the scouts had come up with. We then put the designs together so that each of the kids had a contribution to the wall. The first day was led by Tom Keeling, and the second by Adam Holmes. Overall the days went really well, the weather was great and the wall looked great in the end.

09/04/2011 - Stag Do, Canvas Workshop in Bury St. Edmunds

Nice relaxed afternoon job in Bury St Edmunds near Cambridge. Took about 15 canvases with me, a box of paint, cardboard, craft knives and paper. A group of guys n gals show up after their trip to the brewery and we set about making some stencils for their canvases.

We didn't make too many canvases in the end but did make a pretty cool t shirt for the stag using the stencils we'd made. Overall a pretty chilled day out in Cambridge and a fun day for all involved

06/04/2011 - Pennoweth Primary School, Mural Workshop

This workshop started with a 3 and a half hour drive from Bristol to Redruth. The workshop was due to start at 9am so it was a 5am wake up call for Graff Workshop. Got lost once but arrived in time to teach a group of 5 kids from the art club how to create a graffiti mural. We spent the first half of the day in classroom learning how to sketch our names, the add 3D, or drop shadow, and then we created an outer space themed background as it was something they were learning in science.

Once we had a design we went to the wall in the playground and sketched out the letters and created a colourful space background. We added stars and space ships using stencils we created, as well as UFO's which may not have been in the science space syllabus but looked cool none the less.

Overall it was a great workshop with a good bunch of kids, and I got to go the beach afterwards as it was 2pm and very very hot still. Then on the way home got a call from Adidas asking Graff Workshop to come to a casting for an advert they were doing, so overall a very eventful day
